“...who
we are and what we do it is fundamentally a function of what we remember.”
“Moonwalking with Einstein” is a book
which assures you that anyone even the one who only want to experiment with
their brain(figuratively), they also can set a new record at “MENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP”.
Joshua Foer does an amazing job in describing (who am I kidding he won the
memory championship). The book is more like a movie:
Start (where hero thinks of something to
do, and tries to prepare himself for the same.)
-> Mid ( finding the mentor
and and start preparing for the big day with some fun in between) ->
After lunch(talking about the strategy to win the game -> end(by winning the game -> post credit
scenes.
“When
you want to get good at something, how you spend your time practicing is far
more important than the amount of time you spend.”
For me this is the first time reading a
self help book. I just wanted to explore this side of the valley and here it
is.
I really liked how the author stays connected
with its reader and tell even the small details about mind-mapping or many
previous champions and their records. The author does not shy away from any observation
or fact that does not have any proof. The USP of book is not only making the
reader acquaint with the ourney but also gives some amazing facts about the
people and their memory.
The book is being admired by many
renowned personalities: Bill Gates, Michiko Kakutani, etc.
One should really read “Moonwalking with
Einstein”
